Jack Nitzsche was an American musician, arranger, songwriter, record producer and film composer. He first came to prominence in the late 1950's as the right-hand-man of producer Phil Spector and went on to work with the Rolling Stones, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, among others. He also worked extensively in film scores. He won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for co-writing "Up Where We Belong" from "An Officer And A Gentleman". He also composed and produced the score for the film "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest." The Reprise Recordings 1971-1974 was previously only released as a limited-edition Rhino Handmade CD.
