More Info:

SOFH "...has honed their sound into a cohesive kicky jam, each member bringing varying musical influences that have resulted in a familiar but fresh take on home grown rock." Kelly Lynae Robinson, Boise Weekly. Smooth Old-Fashioned High formed in 2002 in Moscow, ID where the members were attending college at the time. After a few years playing bars and parties, the band relocated to Boise, ID. It was then that their sound really began to mature and fuse; guitarist Nick McDowell's bluesy guitar licks began to mesh with Patrick Crozier's soaring voice and Russ Lodge's energetic drumming. Evan Reed (Guitar/keys) and Eric Ingersoll (Bass) helped the band continue to establish dynamic, thoughtful songwriting and attention to detail, as SOFH always brought a high level of energy-sing-a-longs, onstage shots, late nights-that made live shows so intoxicating. Autumn of 2007 found SOFH beginning work on their latest album, entitled "What's Good?" The record is the band's focused attempt to capture their evolving sound; featuring more technical instrumentation and the addition of Reed ..boards. Lyrical themes reflected on getting older, being tested, growing wiser, and the cost associated with each. Between recording sessions, the band continued playing gigs with the likes of Reckless Kelly, The Clumsy Lovers, Mickey and the Motorcars, Marcus Eaton, Or the Whale, King Cotton, Jordan Booth, Low-Fi, Steve Fulton and an opening spot for Dierks Bentley at a sold out show at the Knitting Factory. After a nearly year-long intense effort, Smooth Old-Fashioned High proudly released "What's Good?" on September 6, 2008. They believe it to be their finest recording to date. The album features a diverse range of styles and moods which stimulate the listener, always keeping the ear interested and the foot tapping. Check it!
