About This Release
Marco Benvento, best known for his work with the widely popular Benvento-Russo Duo, continues to ply his craft as a solo artist with his second studio album, ME NOT ME. Following 2008's critically acclaimed INVISIBLE BABY, this latest effort finds Benevento leaping towars the future with the formation of his own label, Royal Potato Family Records, while simultaneously exploring the past with interpretations of songs ranging from Leonard Cohen, My Morning Jacket, the Knife and Beck, among others. Benvento also contributes a handful of originals, including "Mephisto" from his repertoire with the Duo.

The keyboard experimentalist once more bridges jazz and indie rock, tackling tunes from My Morning Jacket, Deerhoof and the Knife, as well as three quirky original compositions that are just as melodically ingenious, all the while tinkering around with vintage synths and other misfit electro-toys for a distinctive space-age carousel feel.
