This record is part of a project by Berlin-based Oval and Tokyo-based Christophe Charles. On previous recordings, Oval explored deconstruction and reconstruction; assault and aesthetics; computer features and bugs. Their exploration and manipulation of digital technology is continued on Dok, in which individual, static recordings of bells from around the world are meshed into a fluid, rhythmic song structure.
