''8701'' is the third studio album by American R&B singer Usher, released by Arista Records on August 7, 2001, in North America. The title of the album is his birth month and year (10/78) written backwards, as well as the album's release date (8/7/01).
The singer re-teamed with producer and rapper, actor Jermaine Dupri. Additional production by P. Diddy, Bryan Michael Cox, and Babyface, among others. The album was originally titled ''All About U''. It spawned three hit singles: "U Remind Me," "U Got It Bad," and "U Don't Have to Call."
