One of the most in-demand and influential hardcore funk bands of the late '70s/early '80s, Slave was formed in Dayton, Ohio by Stevie Washington. The group broke from obscurity in '77 with the #1 R&B and pop/crossover smash "Slide," but their most popular album was Stone Jam, their 5th LP originally released in '80 on Cotillion/Atlantic. The reissue of this gold album features the original LP's 8 tracks (including the hits "Watchin' You," "Sizzlin' Hot" and the title cut), plus 3 bonus single and disco mix tracks.
