' Static-X's blunt-force trauma melding of industrial rock, thrash metal and futuristic disco is back on the band's fifth studio album, Cannibal. From the carnivorous title track to the throat-punching grooves of 'Destroyer,' 'Goat' and 'Electric Pulse,' thrashing 'Reptile' and bruising 'Chemical Logic' and 'Forty Ways,' Cannibal boasts the harshest, most stripped-down music Static-X has ever recorded.
Reviews:
Album number six (!) from the industrial-metalloids. Would you believe that it's their heaviest album ever? I know, me neither, but they say it is! Cannibal offers up 12 tracks of clang 'n' chug, with lyrics about eating (the title track's "humans = meat" statement from vegetarian frontman Wayne Static) and being eaten ("Reptile," a tune about becoming some giant lizard's lunch.)
