About This Release
Drums and Guns is the latest collection of songs by Low. Recorded with Dave Fridmann, Sparhawk and Parker have created a soundtrack for post-traumatic shock. One imagines a world seen through night goggles; abandonment at the ravaged frontiers of a puppet state; the brainwashed hysteria of teenage guerrillas planting IEDs. The menace breathes and seethes in silence, in a malefic dreamtime.

They're married with kids! They're Mormons! They're slow and mostly quiet! These are the most exclamation points ever used while talking about the monsters of "please don't call us 'slowcore,'" Low! They actually sped up a little bit last time around (2005's The Great Destroyer), so Drums & Guns could continue in that direction. Or they might need to rest.
