Boise’s Deep Heaven are one of those bands that feel familiar and strange at the same time—like stumbling into a dark wave club at 1am and hearing a song you swear you've heard before in a dream. The duo—Joseph Hoisington (guitar/vocals) and Maxwell Modeen (synths/sequencing)—have been quietly crafting a sound that merges lush dream-pop with post-punk pulse and synth-laden melancholy, pulling from the DNA of bands like Nation of Language, Cocteau Twins, Drab Majesty and the Cure, while carving out something that feels distinctly their own.
For "in:," Deep Heaven teamed up with mixing engineer Rob Dennler (Neil Francis, Built To Spill) to bring their sound to a new level.
