Masayoshi Takanaka's legendary RAINBOW GOBLINS STORY concert, recorded live at Nippon Budokan on March 11, 1981, is now available for the first time as a standalone audio release in celebration of it's 45th anniversary. Based on Takanaka's landmark concept album Rainbow Legend THE RAINBOW GOBLINS, itself inspired by Ul de Rico's picture book The Rainbow Goblins, the performance recreated the album in full during the first half and followed with a set of Takanaka's hit songs. Celebrated for it's spectacular staging, the concert featured synchronized rainbow neon lighting, cutting-edge laser effects, goblin-themed costumes for the seven supporting musicians, and Takanaka's iconic yellow jumpsuit and rainbow-metallic Yamaha SG guitar. The vinyl edition includes three 180g clear color LPs in lime yellow, red, and blue, plus a photo booklet, with mastering and analog cutting by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios and liner notes by Masayoshi Kondo and Yoshinobu Maruyama.
