Julie London embarked on a series of albums with beautifully photographed covers which paraded her as a fantasy girlfriend and the ultimate was Calendar Girl. Recorded in May 1956, it features a picture for each month of the year, rather like the poses in Playboy Magazine but with more decorum. They needed a song for each month and fortunately songwriters Bobby Troup (February Brings The Rain and This October) Pete King (November Twilight) and Arthur Hamilton (Time For August and The Thirteenth Month) were on hand to help. Pete Kelly's arrangements showed that London could work with an orchestra and excellent versions of June In January, September In The Rain and sleigh Ride In July were produced.
