The Psychedelic Sounds Of (Half Speed Remaster) 13th FLOOR ELEVATORS. 1966 debut album by Texan pioneers of psychedelia. Presenting the HIT singles 'You're Gonna Miss Me' and 'Reverberation' - ?This ground-breaking album not only defined psychedelic rock but informed punk a decade later, influencing everyone from Led Zeppelin to The Cramps. Originally issued in November 1966, this album has not only continued to gain importance but also world-wide recognition as the first bona fide psychedelic rock album. - This is a facsimile edition of the original mono mix, a faithful reproduction of what was pressed in 1966. The mono pressing is highly prized for it's uncompromising solid-sounding mix. Meticulous attention to detail has gone into this reissue and the digitisation to make sure every detailed nuance was preserved. A 96KHZ-24bit pass, using a valve signal at minus ten decibels (to eliminate turntable rumble), was conducted several times in order to gauge the best results. No attempt was made to rebalance or EQ. A half speed master was then cut at AIR Mastering and a test pressing was then dubbed using the same process and the dynamic range compared against the original pressing. The result was a better sound pressing than the original!
