Having fronted the legendary band Heart since the mid-'70s, Ann Wilson is one of the best known voices in rock. Her debut solo effort, Hope&Glory, features guest appearances from Elton John, Deana Carter, Shawn Colvin, Alison Krauss, k.d. lang, Rufus Wainwright, Gretchen Wilson, Nancy Wilson, and Wynonna Judd on a variety of covers selected for their insight into important current social issues.
Reviews:
The one who isn't Mrs. Cameron Crowe unveils her first solo album, a conscientious collection of political parables. Her guest list is small, but powerful'"Elton John, Alison Krauss, Gretchen Wilson, Rufus Wainwright, and of course, Mrs. Cameron Crowe'"and the tracklist consists entirely of covers from the likes of Dylan, Lennon, Zeppelin and Neil Young. The bookend track is her lone original, the soldier story "Little Problems, Little Lies."
