Every ten years or so the world snaps out of it and realizes that Mann is still criminally underrated. While this compilation of holiday covers (with one original, "Calling on Mary") won't get her "Voices Carry" or Magnolia-caliber accolades, it's inspiring that she's basing what could've been a throwaway on Johnny Mathis.In a world where Christmas decorations are practically popping up the day after the malls tear down the Easter Bunny court (thank you, Mallrats), you can't blame the Magnolia torch for dropping her album of Christmas covers and originals on Halloween day. Tis almost the season.
