Reviews:

Tom Scholz has balls of brass to title the first new Boston album in eight yearsCorporate America, given that most of the media considers his band thebiggest miners in the mid-70s music-as-a-manufactured-commodity gold rush. Infact, most of Corporate America's 1-star reviews have vilified Boston'sspotty career more than the new album, which is a shame, because for fans ofproggy pop rock, Corporate America offers the subtlest, most diverseand satisfying Boston to date. Scholz still uses a fairly broad lyrical stroke, which tends to diminish his songs's impact, but this time out his guitarwork is shorter on production bombast and offers some welcomed nuance. FranCosmo and Brad Delp return on vocals, while Kimberly Dahme lends a light touchin her appearances. Corporate America is bound to make a number of Worstof 2002 lists, which is Scholz's perpetual and rightful penance for Boston2. A little more reinvention and he may work off that terrible debt.
