For this freewheeling session, recorded live at the 5th Annual Riverside Park Arts Festival in New York in 1989, David's regular quintet expanded with the addition of the estimable Clifford Jordan, who struck up a happy partnership with Newman. The supporting cast are four experienced and considerate players who would enhance any band: Ted Dunbar (guitar), Charles 'Buddy' Montgomery (piano), Todd Coolman (bass), Marvin "Smitty" Smith (drums).
