This new jack thrash obsession has done nothing but help extreme music. Whereas bands of Terror's ilk were previously content with rote, breakdown-laden metalcore mookery, now they've been inspired to actually intersperse a little shred into their assault. Frontman Scott Vogel will always be a reliable source of eviscerating, tough-love callouts, but his veteran L.A. crew appears to be diversifying on the songwriting front. Pick up (on) the change!
