Rope Straightener was formed in 2020 Idaho, United States by Colin Wilkinson (Guitars, Bass, Vocals) and Ian Jones (Drums, Keyboards, Vocals) as a project to mourn the suicide of a dear friend. Soon after, James Avants (Vocals) joined the band, and the lineup was completed.The first 100% self-release from a band that was originally formed only to play a celebration of life set for two very close people to them that committed suicide. Following the memorial, the album process started from scratch (no recording equipment or engineering experience between the members) and released nearly a year later.
