More Info:

EU-only two CD set containing the Original Film Soundtrack and the Original Broadway Cast recording of the immortal WEST SIDE STORY. With music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, WEST SIDE STORY was one of both Broadway and Hollywood's greatest hits. The 1957 Broadway show ran for 732 performances before going on tour and the production was nominated for six Tony Awards. The innovative 1961 musical film based on the play was nominated for eleven Academy Awards and won ten. This release presents both the Broadway Cast Recording and the Original Film Soundtrack in a single edition. As a bonus, it also includes a rare version of 'One Hand, One Heart' with vocals by Jo Stafford (recorded two days before the opening night of the tryout of WSS), as well as a set of symphonic dances composed by Bernstein on the basis of the songs from West Side Story and recorded in 1961 by Bernstein himself along with the New York Philharmonic orchestra.
