More Info:
DJ Hell bestrides modern techno like a colossus: he's more than just a producer or a Dj, he's an icon, too big and individual a personality to be accommodated by any one micro-scene. Hell doesn't just represent a type of music, he represents a whole lifestyle, aesthetic and worldview - and 'Body Language Vol. 9' is perhaps the closest any disc has yet come to capturing that totality. Following editions by DIXON, JUNIOR BOYS, MATTHEW DEAR and MODESELEKTOR, the new mix shows DJ Hell digging deep in his library, mixing contemporary club cuts with tunes from the '70s and '80s. While artists like BABY FORD, WILL SAUL and KIRK DEGIORGIO form the backbone of the mix, KLAUS SCHULZE's "Stardancer" and RYUICHI SAKAMOTO & DAVID SYLVIAN's "Forbidden Colors" make for interesting curve balls. Perennial favorites DEPECHE MODE make an appearance as well, and the mix wraps up with a transition from DJ Hell's "Germania" into the 1985 hit "This Is Not America" by DAVID BOWIE and THE PAT METHENY GROUP. The new compilation will be Hell's first full-length release since 'Teufelswerk', his highly acclaimed double album from 2009.
