“Loss of Light is a deeply emotional and cathartic record for all of us involved, and it certainly became a vessel into which we were able to release all of the chaos and pain in our own lives over these past tumultuous years.  To write, rehearse, and record these brutal songs was meditative in many ways, and allowed us to take refuge in the one thing we could still hold on to during the storm.  Loss of Light deeply explores the acceptance of life without the divine, the anger and sadness that resides in that acknowledgment, but also the prosperity and freedom granted once the shackles are removed.  The ramifications of the ancient structures of human society have come to full bear for all to witness, and it is indeed hard to not look away at the horror.  The world around us has grown ever sicker, and the rot of decay is present around every corner.  And yet there is still much beauty to be found in the darkness once the eyes have adjusted to the loss of light.  We encourage our listeners to welcome the utter depths of pain and sorrow, and to thrive in the joy of a life unbound by gods and masters.”

Reviews:

“The band expertly mixes everything from creeping atmospheric passages to outright riffs that'll force you to headbang, all while maintaining a very consistent and identifiable sound.”
- Metal Injection

“These are not songs, but Filthy Melodic Death Hymns that live inside of your brain!”
- CVLT NATION

“…a dark swell full of moody atmosphere, searching and powerful guitar leads, wicked and harsh vocals, and a bass-drum unit that will not stop in its slow advance of storm and fury.”
- Doomed and Stoned

"Ghorot uses an interesting pairing of depraved vocals and psychedelic doom riffs to create an air nestled in between hallucinatory and tormented. What makes them exemplary is the way they occasionally shift in that valley. They go from stressing doom’s churning pace to somewhere more feral without betraying either."
- Invisible Oranges

“There isn’t a way in which Loss of Light isn’t heavy. Everywhere they go, Ghorot carry that weight with them. It is existential.”
- The Obelisk

"This is a sooty, blackened, psychotic good time as the band hammers you with great darkness, crushing riffs, and vicious vocals that batter you completely. It’s a really great record, one I have been visiting over and over.”
