Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing of this 1977 live album. The Modern Lovers were an American rock band led by Jonathan Richman in the `70s and `80s. The original band existed from 1970 to 1974 but their recordings were not released until 1976 or later. Modern Lovers Live catches Jonathan Richman at the height of his candy-floss novelty period. The music is warm and mild, almost all of it derived from `50s and early-`60s models such as surf idioms and guitar instrumentals. Modern Lovers Live has become somewhat of a cult classic the last couple of decades and is guaranteed to put you in a good mood. Pure joy, happiness and bliss.
